How to Place Your Order

CIAH does not use a shopping cart ordering system. Because of the overseeable volume and conditions of our items, both in availability and in individual characteristics, our preferred method of ordering is by phone. This way we can clarify any questions and inform you about availability and shipment to suit your needs.

Ordering by Phone

Our preferred ordering method is by phone. This gives us a chance to discuss your order with you, and to inform you of publication availability. Simply call us at +20 2 2575.2495 during our business hours of Sunday - Thursday 9 AM - 4 PM GMT+2. We do not accept Visa and Mastercard payments.

Ordering by Mail

If you prefer to pay for your ordering using a check or money order, you may place your order by mail. Download our printable Mail Order Form (Adobe Acrobat Format or Excel Template) and send the completed form to "CIAH" to: Centre for Conservation & Preservation of Islamic Cultural Heritage, P.O.Box: 764, 11511 Cairo, Egypt.

Ordering by E-mail

To submit your order by e-mail, you may fill out our Publication Order Form. Because of security concerns, we cannot accept credit card information through e-mail. If you select Visa or Mastercard as your method of payment, we will contact you after receiving your order to arrange payment information. Generally we will contact you within 1-2 days. For orders placed Sunday or Monday, we will contact you when we open again on Tuesday.

Payment

CIAH accepts payment for domestic orders via  money order. International orders may be paid for by money order, or wire transfer. Institutional purchase orders will be accepted on a 14 day net basis.

Shipping

Shipping costs apply with every placed order ($ 4,- for  normal shipment; $ 8,- for Airmail shipment; $ 35 for Express/Next Day shipment). Unless otherwise arranged, Egypt Domestic Shipments are sent via Mail Ground Service. All other countries are served via Airmail Service. AMEX Express and Next Day Air are available for an additional charge. All packages are insured. AMEX does not deliver to PO Boxes or APO addresses. If the shipping address supplied is not AMEX-deliverable, publications will be sent via Egyptian Postal Service. Egypt Postal Service shipments are generally not trackable, nor are they insured. We ship packages Monday through Thursday.

 Return Policy

Publications cannot typically be returned, unless wrongfully delivered. We try to fully describe our publications on our Website to minimize the need for returns. However, if a miscommunication or other extenuating circumstance results in an item arriving not as described, we will replace it with the correct one. If one is unavailable, we will provide a full refund.

Item Restrictions

CIAH follows the Arab Republic of Egypt State Law and International Treaties regarding the possession and sale of our merchanidse.

International Shipping

We ship internationally using both the Egyptian Postal Service and AMEX. Shipping and handling charges cannot be accurately assessed until we know the contents of your order and the actual shipping address. We will recommend a shipping solution based on the size and value of your order. All international shipment requrie an external invoice disclosing the true value and nature of the items being shipped. We cannot accomodate orders that request otherwise.

Miscellaneous Fees

Shipping and Handling fees charged by CIAH cover the following: handling, packing, actual postage, and insurance (when applicable).

Shipping and Handling fees charged by CIAH do not cover: custom fees, import duties, VATs, or any other fees levied by the country of destination. These fees are the responsibility of the recepient. We cannot estimate these fees, nor do all countries charge them. Please contact your local post office or customs authority concerning these fees.

Unexpected Delays

International shipments may be delayed by random customs inspections or other circumstances beyond our control. Please be patient and allow extra time for delivery of international orders.
