Al-Mursi Abul-'Abbas Mosque
The most important historic mosque in Alexandria , Egypt. It is located in the Anfoushi district. It was constructed in 1775 in the reign of King Fouad and Farouk, it was built over the tomb of Ahmed Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi. The main part of the mosque, internally, is an octagon, with sides measuring 22 meters; the entire area of the mosque is 3000 square meters. The ceiling is covered with a skylight in the centre.
